Mao Xie tea, originally from Daqiulun in Fumei Village, Daping Township, Anxi County, is celebrated for its high yield and excellent quality. Over time, it has spread to regions like Daping and Huqiu, but this batch is special—it comes from the tea garden of Uncle Zhang, a long-time friend of our tea house. Nestled deep in the mountains, his tea garden is a product of years of care and dedication. Uncle Zhang is a master tea maker, skilled in traditional roasting techniques, with a craft that speaks of decades of experience.

For decades, Uncle Zhang has worked with tea, treating the mountains as his companions and fire as his confidant. He blends Daping’s natural gifts with his own expertise, perfecting every leaf with care. His tea garden, perched at an altitude of 1,000 meters, is surrounded by mist and nourished by a gentle, humid climate. These ideal conditions infuse the tea leaves with the spirit of the mountains, giving this Mao Xie a unique character.

In crafting his tea, Uncle Zhang follows the traditional twelve-step process with precision, finishing each batch with hand-roasting techniques that deepen its flavors and aromas. This Daping Mao Xie is known for its distinct "Guanyin fragrance"—a high, clean aroma with a hint of sweetness and a trace of jasmine. The tea liquor is a soft green, smooth and silky on the palate. Its rich, full-bodied taste lingers long after each sip, leaving a refined and elegant aftertaste.

Drinking this Mao Xie is more than enjoying tea; it’s experiencing the soul of the mountains and the heart of the maker. Every sip carries a story of dedication, nature, and craft—simple yet deeply moving.
