Wuyi Fruity Da Hong Pao
Wuyi Fruity Da Hong Pao
This delightful Guo Xiang Da Hong Pao is another classic blended rock tea from our tea garden. Its formula, perfected over 14 years, is adjusted each year based on the climate and the quality of the leaves to maintain its unique flavor and depth. The tea is a harmonious blend of various rock tea cultivars from our garden, carefully mixed in precise proportions. This process goes beyond mere blending—it’s an art of precision, balancing the characteristics of each variety to create a perfect synergy in fragrance, taste, and aftertaste.
The charm of Da Hong Pao lies in its versatility and the endless possibilities of blending. There are no rigid standards; as long as the final product achieves the criteria of aroma, mouthfeel, and depth, it is considered successful. This particular blend is centered around the “floral and fruity” aroma, with the essence of rock tea embodied in its firm, rocky base—deep yet delicate. The tea’s richness is enhanced by its pronounced fruit fragrance, and the lingering floral notes add a sense of elegance and complexity. The integration of flower and fruit aromas creates a harmonious and fragrant bouquet. Maintaining the aroma’s integrity while showcasing the tea’s individual character is the key challenge in blending, and this one does so remarkably well.
The taste of this Guo Xiang Da Hong Pao is sweet, refreshing, and vibrant. Most importantly, its fragrance remains refined and never overwhelming, offering a delicate and fresh sensation with a long-lasting aftertaste that lingers on the palate. The various cultivars in this blend complement each other beautifully: the addition of Shui Xian brings a rich, thick mouthfeel, while the inclusion of Cinnamon (Rou Gui) imparts a subtle spiciness. The inclusion of high-fragrance varieties adds a playful floral touch, making each sip full of depth and surprises.
This elegant Da Hong Pao oolong tea boasts a medium-thick body, with rich tea notes and a captivating progression of aromas—from fruity to floral. Its multiple infusions offer a delightful natural sweetness and a lingering hui guan (pleasant aftertaste). Perfectly suited for pairing with breakfast pastries or as a refined companion for afternoon tea, it’s a versatile choice that elevates any tea moment.
