2014 Anxi Traditional Tie Guan Yin
2014 Anxi Traditional Tie Guan Yin
Hailing from Jing Tea Shop’s farm in Anxi County, Fujian Province, this Tie Guan Yin Oolong tea was harvested in the spring of 2014. Grown at an elevation of approximately 800 meters above sea level, this single-parcel tea embodies the essence of its origin with every cup.
The dry leaves release a subtle acidity reminiscent of dried cranberries and apricots, enriched by deeper herbal notes that offer a warmly inviting initial impression. A brief rinse with boiling water reveals a profound aroma, evolving to include hints of cereal husks and the distinctive scent of traditional Chinese sticky rice paper. As the tea cools, it develops a bread-like aroma while retaining a lingering sweet and sour essence akin to salted plums and starfruit.
In the cup, the tea soup presents a restrained yet comforting fragrance, blending dried plums and roasted barley. On the palate, the tea liquor is exceptionally smooth and mellow, providing a rich, textured sensation. With its distinct fruity acidity, characteristic of aged Anxi Oolong teas, it offers a refreshing experience that stimulates the taste buds and leaves a lasting impression.
